In this interactive web-based workshop, participants will be introduced to the use
of museum setting artwork to facilitate group discussion for individuals with
dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, including caregivers and all group members.
Participants will gain a general framework and strategies for implementing a
successful program, such as has been established by MoMA in 2007 and
practiced in museums throughout the world.
After brief introductions, participants will be led through a series of specific
approaches to enable and engage discussion activities inspired by a work of art,
dealing with various real-world scenarios and challenges that have been part of
the growth of this important project. Ample time will be allotted for a follow-up
question and answer period.
