is VSA Arts of Vermont?

Founded
in 1986, VSAVT is a statewide, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization
that is dedicated to making the arts accessible to Vermonters
of all abitlities. |

| What
does VSA Arts of Vermont do? |
We
bring regularly scheduled arts programs to approximately 3000
of Vermont's low-income, hospitalized, disabled and refugee
children, teens, families and adults at no cost to the participants. |

| Why
the arts? |
The
arts work - to teach math, science and reading to children with
learning disabilities; to teach vocational and independent living
skills to adults with developmental disabilities; to involve
at-risk teens in their neighborhoods; to bring enrichment and
opportunities to homeless children; and to ensure that Vermonters
of all abilities have the opportunity to fully participate in
their communities. |

kind of arts? |
Puppetry,
pottery, and poetry - drama, dancing and drumming, music, murals
and mask-making -storytelling, video animation and literary
magazines, just to name a few. |

| Where
does VSA Arts of Vermont do this? |
Schools,
hospitals, nursing homes, city parks, city streets, city halls,
community centers, day-care centers, theatres, and museums.
VSAVT offers programs in many Vermont counties including: Chittenden,
Addison, Lamoile, Orange, Essex, Orleans, Caledonia and Franklin/Grand
Isle. |
