April 5, 2017 all-day
America/New York Timezone
Town Hall Theater
68 S Pleasant St, Middlebury, VT 05753
This daylong convening will focus on accessibility, equity, and community inclusion — important concerns for all nonprofits providing programs and services.
Presenters with and without disabilities including artists, leaders from arts and cultural organizations, and representatives from disability service, advocacy, and funding agencies will share professional and personal expertise and experiences. Participants will learn the importance of engaging a broad spectrum of users in integrated settings that provide, equal, effective, and enjoyable arts experiences. They will also explore the ways regulations and standards relate to social inclusion, the arts, compliance, and best practices.
This symposium is a collaboration of the Arts Council, VSA Vermont, the Statewide Independent Living Council, and the Vermont Center for Independent Living. It is supported in part by the Christopher Reeve Foundation and Innovations and Collaborations funds from the Vermont Community Foundation through VSA Vermont.
Registration: Individual $75; group from one organization $65/person.
