Volunteer Appreciation Night

We will be holding this year’s Volunteer Appreciation Night on Monday, April 25 from 6:30-8:00 at the Elley-Long Music Center, 223 Ethan Allen Ave in Colchester. Volunteer and teaching-artist Kim Desjardins will be leading a creative art activity for all who attend. The evening is a wonderful opportunity for mingling, light refreshments, and an arts experience.

Inclusive Drumming Training @ Elley-Long Music Center

VSA Vermont, with support from NobleCause, is offering a FREE training for professional and amateur drummers on Sunday, June 26 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Elley-Long Music Center, 223 Ethan Allen Ave, Colchester. Lunch will be provided. We are looking for 8 drummers from across Vermont who want to learn an inclusive framework for drumming instruction followed by hands on opportunities to practice the new skills they have learned.

Steve Ferraris, founder of Root Drumming Systems and experienced VSA teaching artist, will provide instruction from his evidence-based “Drumming for Success” program presenting skills, techniques, and methods in an experiential learning environment.

If you’d like to learn skills and gain experience engaging students with severe emotional and behavioral challenges through the arts, apply to be part of the Arts to Smarts professional development training pilot this fall!
